It was the spring of 2014 and I was visiting colleges with my mom when a song I had never heard came up on my iTunes Radio. It started off with a slow build and then I heard the lead singers voice and I was immediately hooked. I looked down at my phone screen and saw that it was a song called Reflections by Misterwives. Little did I know that they were going to become one of my favorite bands to date.
Misterwives is a six piece indie pop band from NYC and are quickly becoming a powerhouse in the indie music world. With Mandy’s unique and powerful vocals, amazing instrumentation providing by the extremely talented band and overwhelming optimism, it’s hard not to love this band, and consistently want more of them.
Misterwives released an album, Our Own House, late last February and have been doing nothing but reaching endless heights since. With not only one, but two amazing tours, both of which sold out multiple venues; they’re quickly making a name for themselves. This summer alone, they preformed at the Governor’s Ball and performed at Bonnaroo just last week and they plan to be at Osheaga Festival later this year. For a band who’s only been around for 3-4 years, I think it would be safe to say they’re doing pretty well, and rightfully so.
Having seen Misterwives twice, I can easily say that their show is one of the best, if not, the absolute best live show I’ve ever seen. I’ve been to over 20 concerts in the last two years, and Misterwives provides something that everyone else couldn’t. Their radiating optimism and crowd interaction is something that has been unmeasured by the any other act I’ve seen.
The anticipation for their second album is driving me up the wall, but I know the results of of my patience will be well worth it. And like I always say, with a new album comes a new tour, and I honestly don’t know which one I’m more excited for.
If you haven’t heard a Misterwives song, I strongly recommend you change that, Our Own House is one of my personal favorites. Also, if you ever heat they’re coming to a city near you, please go! You will not regret it .
I don’t read much, but I’m going to read every post on this glorious blog. Excellent job.

He is a liar. Not about the blog being excellent, but about reading every post. I have it on good authority that he has missed numerous posts, but he will attempt to read further posts as frequently as possible.
